SAF Day Combined Rededication Ceremony 2009

I was so tired that I didn't hear my alarm ringing in the morning. Only woke up after my mum called me. My biological clock is "off-tuned" I guess. Can't sleep at night. Hmm. I washed myself up quickly and set off to work.

Squeezy train. I really dislike squeezing in train. I was wondering how the event will turn out to be while I was on my way there. I am so tired that I am almost like dragging myself to work.

Reached there rather early and my colleague had already arrived. Punched my card and I start to chat a little with that colleague. She asked for my age and showed my her photo taken while she was nineteen. Haha. Her zodiac animal is same as mine. What a coincident. Haha.

The in-charge was late. So I start work with that colleague first. I was made to carry all the things. Oh well. We were not able to do the routine checks as the layout were already set when we got there; goodie bags were placed at each seats and a big group of army guys had taken their seat.

Mr Teo Chee Hean was the guest of honour. I am not the VIP usher as there were not enough people. Hmm. Not bad that I got to see Mr Teo. Quite close. Haha. What I can say about him is that, he is t-a-l-l. As it was raining outside, Mr Teo was somehow held up. When he entered, he said loud and friendly "hello everybody". Wow. He cracked a joke while he went up for his speech after apologising for being late. I didn't catch the joke. Hmm.

It was then the giving out of trophies to some companies. I was really surprised. Giving prizes to some companies? What is it got to do with SAF? I totally have no idea of what was going on. More shocking was the appearance of representatives for Mary Chia Slimming and Beauty Specialist, Mr Bean and Old Chang Kee. The mentioning of that two brands sure makes me drool.

There wasn't too many problems for this event. It was a free and easy style. The event was so short that it ended very early. How I wished it was a little longer. Most of the time were spent tearing off the stickers. This part was really a waste of time and labour. My nailess fingers were rather redden after a while. Hmm. Anyway, the leftover goodie bags were given to us after the event. The number was really a lot. It was so many that the cleaners took a big black trash bag and store it. Haha. I took some. Gave one to Uncle Jimmy and one to the male Pipa player who happened to be there.

Bernard then asked me for the details of the event to fill up the form. I still have a question that was not answered; who was the in-charge? The supposed in-change didn't turn up in the end. Though it was a bit blur in terms of organisation, I would say that this event was generally a short moment of eye-opener.
