Macdonald's Youth Inspiration Series - Mr Steven Chia

This is the first series that I am able to attend and it is also the first one that I am really interested in. As known by many, Mr Steven Chia is the person that "read news" on Channel News Asia. From his blog and what I know about him, I believe that the talk is going to be an enjoyable one. Signed up with Ying Xian and am really glad that there were still seats for us.

Most of the attendees had already settled down when I reached there. I am so lucky that I manage to get two seats side by side so that I can sit with Ying Xian. There were only a few individuals attendees while most were representing their schools.

This is the first time that I went to the McCafe at Ang Mo Kio too. It's kind of nice. The customer service however have room for improvement. As there were extra food given by the heartware people, I asked for plastic bags so that Ying Xian and I can bring the food home, or maybe consume it while we were shoppping around AMK Hub. The person that gave me the plastic bags seems to be annoyed by my request. Oh well..

Anyway, the talk by Mr Steven Chia was great! The event wasn't that noisy maybe the attendees were feeling that we are strangers to each other. Well, I am really glad that I managed to catch him for a picture to be taken before he went off. =D

The heartware people were nice to me today. As I accidently spilled my drinks while I was attempting to take the fries, they did attempt to help me settle the problem. One just somehow appeared at the right time to help me keep my camera. Troubled her to wipe away the cola on my camera. I really thank her a lot. She volunteered to help me throw away the tissues after that so that I can continue enjoying my food. So nice of her. =)

Syahrul help Ying Xian and I to take a picture with his camera. Gues what he did? His camera is so good that he actually zoomed in my pimples! Haha. Quite nice of him to chat with me, remembering that I was one of the volunteers for Chingay Wonderland.

I had enjoyed myself today and a round of applause to the organisers for this event! =D

SHS Student Conference 2009

This is my first student conference. There were pleasant and unpleasant things. It was alright generally.

I woke up early as I had to reach school by 6.30pm. I am responsible for opening the clubroom as I volunteered to hold on to the key since I live the nearest as compared to the rest. I waited at the bus-stop for around 30 mins but my bus did not appear. I got a phone call and a message while I was waiting for my bus. Feel a little disappointed that I was not trusted.

There was 10 minutes more for me to reach school and not even the other bus appear. I called Auntie Mui and she agreed to drive me to school immediately despite I woke her up from sleep and she was coughing quite badly. I really thank her a lot that I got to school in time. =D

I wanted to catch the sun-rise but the doors of the staffs' offices and tutorial rooms were locked. Oh well.. Anyway, the air in the morning sure is fresh. Haha.

I helped out with the preparations for 15 minutes before changing and get myself ready for the event. I wore my new blouse, pants and shoes! Haha! I like my new pants a lot. Haha!

Being the VIP registra and "bell-girl" were my jobscopes. Glad that I have something to do throughout. Haha. I was rather lucky to reach the lecture theatre before the presentation starts. Phew. Rushed there after "closing" the registration. There were so many people that attended this event, causing me having to squeeze in to get a good spot to do the time-keeping. The first bell sure is a little attention-catching. Can't believe that My year one mentor said I am fierce when I press the bell. =.=

Another lecturer of mine asked me for time allowance as her student presenters had some technical glitch. I can't believe that I actually listened to her and gave the team 10 seconds of allowance. I have no one to consult at that time too. I wonder if I had done the right thing. I just want to be fair to all teams. I regretted after giving the allowance. The group still exceed a lot anyway. Furthermore, they didn't win. If not, I sure feel very guilty as I already feel guilty enough.

It would be better if lecturers do not interfere too much. I can see the battle between the lecturers since the dry run. I was delighted yesterday during the dry run when I heard one lecturer ask another member about the plans as she does not want spoil our plans. So nice of her.

I took a rest during the break. The food was edible but there is a big big room for improvements. Thanks to Jovin for helping me to grab some food while I was serving the foods to the students and guests.

Thanks to him and Hakim for taking care of my food while I invite the guests back to the lecture theatre with my loud voice. Lol.

After the event was the dismantling of the decorations. All done by the club and I can't even see the trace of the lecturers. It's our job anyway. But from this and the "argument", I have "learned some new facts".

It was then debrief which ends at around 3pm. Great job done by everyone! =D

In addition, CONGRATULATIONS to ORTHOLIFT360! =D

Custard Puff

Dad bought this for me when I was looking for something to eat before my trainng on Wednesday. Went to this bakery near the place where Mum took her x-ray for a look. This custard puff is the biggest that I have seen. Usually it's quite small when bought from other bakeries. Asked Dad to buy one for me to try. Haha.

The taste was superb too. Those that I ate outside were bland and the custard were rather jelly-like. I feel like floating when I took a bite of this. Yum-yum. The custard were creamy and have a slight sweetness. The icing sugar on top adds on to the flavour too. Yummy!

I have a feeling to vomit during the training later on. Someone told me maybe it's the cream that causes that. The thick and rich cream sure is tasty. Haha.

Scottsdale Fine Properties

The weather in Singapore is around 75 degrees to 87 degrees Fahrenheit these few days. It is rather low at the moment due to the rainy season. The cool wind sure is enjoyable. The temperature is around 80 degrees Fahrenheit at Arizona now, around the same as what it is here.

After visiting Arizona relocation services, I feel like having a holiday trip at Arizona. There are nice scenery to be seen, especially in this acceptable temperature.

I especially like this page, http://www.scottsdalefineproperties.com/HelpfulLinks.html, as there are the useful links for me to do the necessary research as part of the preparation of my trip. I would like to go there for a holiday to enjoy the beautiful secenery and experience the culture there.

Third Wushu Badminton Session

Had another badminton session finally after a semester. Had more chance to play with more opponents yesterday.

Paired up with Ruiqi to play doubles with Kenny and Edward - the paladin and dark lord team. Kenny and Ruiqi sure have good skills. My team won in the end. Haha. Main cerdits to Ruiqi. Haha. We found out that Kenny and Edward have a few "interesting" stances. Haha.

Kenny sure is good. Ruiqi and I teamed up against him initially and he was still doing well. Haha.

Learned something new I guess. I never knew that there were so much rules for doubles. Furthermore, the score-keeper is actually called "ampire". Hope I spelled it correctly. Haha.

Serene brought two friends along. Thought we can play together but it turned out to be Serene playing with her friends. Guess I was too engrossed in beating the guys that I didn't do anything about it. Anyway, it would be rather awkward for her friends if she were to leave them and play with us. Hmm.

I rushed off after beating the guys as I promised to accompany my Mum to have her x-ray taken. Left half-way while the rest were still playing.

Returned for training after that. As there was still a some time left, Ruiqi and I went for another round of badminton. Eric coach joined in. He asked me for the racket that I am holding as he wanted to try for a few rounds. Passed the racket to him as he does not want to get another racket from someone else. I then went to take Kenny's racket and joined force with Ruiqi against him. Haha! Fengwei took a racket and joined force with Eric coach later on. Haha. Nice game. The shuttlecock somehow flew more between Ruiqi and Eric coach. Haha.

Anyway, thanks a lot to those who turned up for this session. Thank you for taking the troubles to bring the extra rackets and shuttlecocks for everybody so that everyone can get involved. I have enjoyed myself. Haha. =)

The Cantonese Music Lingers On......

Rushed back to Grandma house to change out and have my dinner before heading down to the conference hall after my work at Yishun. Glad that I reached there on time. Helped Jiewei and Yuting to prepare their new punch card too.

Quite missed my name tag though. Haha. Haven't seen it for some time.

After some preparations, it's the commencing of work. Internal usher again. Got that same position at the top of the gallery again. Switched with Sky to get near door 8 so that I can see the huqin better.

Chatted with one of the loyal fan of SCO. She got the tickets for one whole year. COOL! Besides from that, all the tickets were of the same seat. She told me that that was her permanent seat. Haha. Quite nice of her to chat with me. She said "hello" to me with a really big smile when she walked past me to her seat. Haha.

The performance was alright. One song entitled "Great Waves" some sort of woke me up as I was feeling a little sleepy for some of the items. The reason was that this was a cantonese concert and I could hardly understand what the performers were singing even though the music was nice.

I get to see the cantonese gaohu again! Cool! Heard jinghu but couldn't locate it on the stage. How I wish I have the chance to learn jinghu.

I was a little shocked when the guest conductor walked onto the stage as I was expecting Tsung Yeh to be the conductor. Another new discovery was that both "wang laoshi" and "zhu laoshi" were partners now. Both were playing zhonghu last night, sitting side by side.

There wasn't a lot of people that turned up yesterday. Lots of empty seats can be found at the back of the gallery. Patrons generally were alright except for a few.

Did the routine house-checks after that and did not find any house programme left behind. Glad that Weixuan took two for me. =D Wanted the autographs too but I didn't get the chance to.

Went home after that and I was really glad that I manage to get myself a seat in the train. =)
