NDP 2009 NE Show 3

Some disappointment I must say. I wonder why. Not feeling really well physically and mentally.

Reached the F1 pit after taking the shuttle bus from Pek Kio CC. Took a picture while the bus was moving and I actually managed to capture what I want in the center of the picture. Cool. First time ever.

The milo truck wasn't there when we alight the bus. Saw Old Chang Kee. Their business have not start yet and there were lots of people queuing up already. After putting down our bags, those whose costumes have problem went to queue up for "doctor consultation" while the rest went to walk around. My first station after running to the toilet, Old Chang Kee! Took curry puffs as usual. Queued again as I wanted to taste the fried dumplings. Out of stock. Queued again after a while, out of stock again. Saw others managed to get it but I can't. My luck. No milo. But there's ice cream. Took a strawberry flavoured cone. It was half-melted even though the person distributing placed it in the icebox. Hmm.

Tried to sit down and study but I can't. The smell of the hairsprays triggered my migraine. Went to accompany Yaxin at the long queue. We went around to take food as usual. Mr Bean soya milk is yummy. While chatting, while I was eating my hard texture sotong stick, a guy came to collect our signatures for a magazine that all performers are going to receive. We signed our names with creativity! Yaxin, Yaoteck and I posed for a photo while two photographers came along to snap pictures. A boy behind us was laughing very loudly. Later then I found out that Yaoteck placed a twist on Yaxin and my head. Haha. It's kind of weird to take that picture with my half-eaten sotong stick.

The sootng stick was really hard. It took me some time to finish eating due to the extra effort needed to chew the food. Herchuan said that I really ate very long. People around me were guessing that the sotong stick was not fresh anymore; it was heated up for a second time.

After a while, I went out to walk around. The smell of the hairspray was really strong. I still can smell it though I was a distance away. Went to flyer for a walk. Guess my nose was really sensitive. Others were telling me that they were not able to smell it. Went to take a walk at the mini garden at flyer with Yaxin. Nice! Nice flowers, nice fishes, nice waterfall. We took lots of pictures. Fun!

Went back for dinner before heading back to flyer again. Xinfeng tried to ask for some medicated oil from the first aid tent for me. A little shocked as she brought me there without me knowing what was going on. Thank you for trying to help though.

We then went to flyer together with Yaxin. The toilet sure is a conducive environment. Answered my long nature call upon reaching there. We then took some nice pictures with the drawings opposite the lifts and the Orang Utan outside one of the office. The close observation of the flyer is really cool. Water was dripping down the capsules. Wondered why initially. Mystery solved after William told me that it was caused by the air-con. The water almost dripped on me at times. Wow. I hope that I can have a chance to take a ride in the flyer one day.

We slacked at the chairs after snapping pictures. We were waiting for the uncapping ceremony. A closer look this time. The ceremony was a little delayed. We were called to go off to change while I was videoing halfway. Oh man! I was about to witness the gist of the ceremony and I was called to go off. Oh well. Anyway, the feeling of having a close look was really different. Hope I can see it again for the next show, the whole ceremony.

Ran to the toilet back and forth to change. First time wearing a thinner shirt and shorts. Not so hot though. Waited at the road as usual. I got my camera ready to take nice video of the F-16s flypast. Taking a nice video is not easy at all. Seeing the planes sure brighten up my spirit a little.

Marched to the floating platform. Wanted to grab a drink there but the table was kept. Heard the person in-charge for the previous show was scolded for not keeping the table. Heard that his duty was to give water to a certain time only. Wonder where I can get water if I am thristy again.

Looking at the audience from the walkway, they doesn't seems to be as noisy as the first two shows. Haojun was commenting that the lights were a lot lesser. Seeing people dancing in the grids, I noticed that the first row of grids were closed. I wonder why. Went to the tent as usual. There was a guy taking video of us. Haha. Cool. Went to the backstage and "highed" with the music for the previous item. I am still reluctant to put on that helmet. My head was still pain.

Ran out when the doors were opened. Only heard some screams instead of cheer like the previous shows. Tried to boost some strength by reminding myself that my family was out there supporting me at the blue sector. I am still not happy with the helmet. Difficulty in breathing. I wondered where my family was sitting. After the performance, I ran out, looking around blue sector, hoping to see them. While running, My cudgel trapped in one of the holes on the stage. Pulled it out quickly with lots of strength and ran out quickly. Saw the signal for the next item was already orange light; I must leave the stage fast.

Finally we got to have a rest at the corridor between gate 1 and exit F1. I was sweating! A little more wet than the previous shows. Glad that Shuting brought tissue. Thank you! We started walking towards gate 6 after resting for a while.

While getting ready for our exit for the finale, lots of golden "construction workers" were clapping and shouting with high spirits behind us. Cool. Didn't turn my head to see the fireworks while the national anthem was played. Only turned my head after that. I still like the fireworks display, especially the heart-shaped fireworks. Nice.

We were asked to watch the playback of our performance in the "eye" while the crowd was being cleared. The people that were usually took over by the simulators were here. Spice girls, the pipa player and other singers. Gurmit Singh and another emcee actually performed in the item before my item. Wow. While we were watching happily, anticipating the next item which was ours to be shown, they cut off the playback! Oh man! How great was that.

I was a little disappointed that my family were not able to come and find me. Sockhui wasn't able to come too. Heard that it was too crowded. Hmm.

We waited for our turn to be dismissed after that. Heard Mayflower Secondary School to be called out. Guess they are performing this year again. But I did not get to see which of the group is them. A little shocked. But it did proved that what I heard at NE show 2 was not wrong; I did hear my secondary school being called out.

Bored while waiting, there was a "fight" going on between Ruiqi and Herchuan. Joined in for a while later on. I keep pulling Herchuan's watch and shoe lace. I think he was really "pekchek". Tired me tried to doze a little.

Walking back, I got "suanned" as usual. Said "I hate Haojun" and Haojun replied "take a number. Alvin was saying that this was what happened during NE 2 at the same spot. Lol. Deejavu?

Changing out after reaching the pit area, Jessen helped us to take the Sunshine breads. Chocolate flavour. Thank you!

I took the bus back to Pek Kio CC as usual. Walked all the way to the other end of the pit area again. Saw one army guy wearing the Singapore team Martial House t-shirt. Shocked? Some people were shocked. Don't think the coached know that person. Finally our bust came after some waiting. Tired me tried to sleep on the bus but the ventilation was really bad. My head was so pain that I feel like jumping out of the bus. It was a relief after the bus finally reached Pek Kio CC.

NYP Wushu Lunch-Time Performance (22.07.2009)

Strolled my way to the clubroom after my lecture. Glad that tutorial was cancelled so that I don't have to rush. There was the eclipse happening in the morning. Seeing that the clubroom was not opened yet when I reached there, I chatted with Parvin about the eclipse. "Hot" topic.

Time flies. It's time to change soon. Marched together to the atrium. Big performance area! Good! It was only that I reached the atrium that I realised that I forgot to wear my guard supports. Hmm. Bear with it. I am so glad that I did my routine correctly. Not very well coordinated as I can't hear Fengwei's command.

We went back to the clubroom after the performance. It was then I realised that there was another performance at a later time. Jiangda said that I am going to solo Gongli Quan. Shocked. It was not that I am scared. I am in fact, elated. It would be a good training for my courage.

After some discussions, off we go to the atrium again. The plan turned out to be the same as the previous one; mass routine of Gongli Quan. Hmm.

Second round, I can't hear the commands as usual. Generally, it was alright. Got to have Xinxin and Liyan to support us. Not bad.

After the performance, we had lunch together at North Canteen and crapped in the clubroom. Fun.

NDP 2009 NE Show 2

Took the shuttle bus from Pek Kio CC as usual after meeting up with my people at Novena MRT station. Yeetian was late and asked us not to wait for him. Saw him waiting for us at the pit area already when we reached there.

Upon settling down, we started to get our drinks. Mr Bean soya milk! Tried for milo and Old Chang Kee but heard from seniors that they have not start their "business' yet. There was no ice-cream that day though.

Took a walk with Ruiqi and Shuting to around the containers and back. Those containers are where our props are kept. The pit area at the back is allocated to the uniform groups.

Went to take Old Chang Kee and milo once the "business" were started. There's "pie kia"! So cool! Chicken pie! Yummy! Went a few more rounds with Yaxin to take curry puff and fried sotong fishcakes. Yum yum! Thanks Yaxin for helping me to fill my bottle. It's a long queue!

Practised broadsword routine at the white open area with Ruiqi and Shuting. Used the golden cudgel as our "broadswords". Though the "feel" wasn't there, it's safer to an extent. There is however still some "unsafe" components of the cudgel; there was a point when I used too much strength and hit my waist. Bruised I think.

Practising halfway, I saw a squirrel running across the road! That squirrel ran and hop on to the nearby tree with agility. I walked slowly towards the tree and glad that the squirrel didn't spot my presence. One of its eye is white and the other black. Took pictures and videos of it. As I am afraid of scaring the squirrel away, I dare not move an inch! I felt like a statue. The squirrel sure have sharp teeth. It removed a thick layer of tree bark within one minute! Cool! At this point of time, Haojun came over, talking at the same time. I was so afriad that the squirrel would run away from me! Glad that it did not. The squirrel finally ran away after a group of red cross people walked towards my direction, climbing higher up the tree.

Had a little hard time with my phone's camera after it was soaked in the rain last week. Need to shake before I can get the camera to start-up. Hmm.

Two people suddenly came out from nowhere at our "training" area. They wanted to take video. Everybody starts to disppear slowly. William and Christian were "pushed" into the limelight. Kenny was the lucky "winner" to be interviewed. Haha. Slack for a moment and it was dinner time! Tired me was already resting on the floor and did some stretching.

Dinner was generally alright. Food from Singapore Food Industry again. Half a chicken, steamed corn and a bread. How rare that I finished the corn and bread. Ate some of the chicken too. Took the rest of it home. Glad that I didn't waste the food. Felt hungry but doesn't have the appetite. Hmm.

After dinner, we went to the toilet at flyer. Nice ambience. Saw two cute Orang Utan plushies, parent and child, outside one of the offices. First time for me to step into the flyer area. Close look of the flyer capsule was amazing.

We then went to the "training area" to slack. Sitting there was relaxing. The temperature then was not cooling. Practised with my "xuan zi" while slacking. Can't jump a nice one. Thanks Christian and Herchuan for the guidance. Ruiqi and Shuting attempted to take pictures of me in the air but didn't manage to. Jumped too low. Frankly saying, I am not supposed to be jumping with my unrecovered injuries and full stomach.

Heard some shouting of commands so I went over to the flyer to take a look. It's the uncapping ceremony! Wow! Cool! Took video and pictures from a distance away as I dare not go too close. This is my first time watching the uncapping ceremony. I am so happy! That was what I have been hoping to experience but I never thought that I would have the chance!

While taking video of them, the Red Lions jumped down from the helicopter. First time saw how they jump. Cool! They were like small and tiny ants when they first left the helicopter. Went back to the "training area" after the uncapping ceremony. Heard from Ruiqi that two Red Lions collided. Glad that they were safe.

It was then time to change into our costume after seeing the "fireworks" were released at the floating platform. Good cue. We then went to wait at the road as usual. I brought my phone along to take more pictures. Glad that I took a video of the F-16s. I think it's my fatigue. I seems to not encode that I just saw the flypast into my brain. I knew that I saw the flypast, but in my mind there was actually a question; what's the route of the planes?

Looked through the video that I just took and analyse the route so that I can take a better video for the next show. After a moment, we started to walk over to the floating platform. I really enjoy the walk with the accompaniment of the sea breeze.

Reached the floating platform at an even later time than the previous show. Once I saw the enthusiasm kids, I somehow felt energised a little. Singing and humming the songs while we were walking to the backstage. I am happy that I managed to take a picture of the baskhar dancers dancing in the grids. I was afraid that they have left the grids already when we reached there as we went there relatively later. Cool. I took really a lot more pictures, including the backstage. Nice.

Ran out to Gate 1 after our routine as usual. I wonder why there was a crash this time; another group of performers were running from Gate 6 while we were running to exit. I don't remember that they were there for the preview show. Hmm. Anyway, I felt stitch at my left waist again. Guess I really need to do some warm-up.

We walked over to Gate 6 through another route for our finale. We took the aisle in the middle of the inner and outer gates. Saw some VIP ushers I guess. They stood in a human line. Getting ready? Now it really makes me consider whether I still want to be a VIP usher for NDP.

Waited for a while before we go out for finale. Took Shuting's last tissue paper, felt a little bad about it. Hope she didn't need any after that. That middle aisle made our walk a lot smoother than before as it was more spacious for us. No traffic jam and there wasn't any need for us to squeeze and run.

I am hands-free as Shuyan didn't turn up for the show. I am the one who usually took her helmet and cudgel. Went up to the stage happily for our finale. MA16. Yes! Clapped and wave throughout. Can't remember the moves that were taught. All of us just have fun!

Took video of the fireworks. Jeremy and Christian kept disturbing me, skipping in front of my camera. I took the pledge and national anthem with pride. Wanted to turn my head to see the fireworks while I was singing the national anthem, Christian used his hand to block my view. Alright, my fault.

After the dispersal, we practised our moves for the finale. We had guidance this time. "Secret" weapon. There's a person standing on top of the control room. Can't really see that person properly though. All we have to do is to follow the person's action. I find that person's actions not that clear and coordinated too. There were times when it was too slow and suddenly too fast. Weird. Hope that I can memorise the steps so that I can have eye-contact with the audience rather than having my eyes fixed on that mysterious person. Eye-contact with the audience looks way nicer and it will be a better experience for both the audience and performers.

After the practise, I am glad that it was a short one, we waited for our turn to be released. Martial House was not the last one but was still one of the last few. Wushan played a song that I liked! Thanks for bluetoothing to me so I can enjoy the song when I want to!

Finally it was our turn to walk back to flyer. Lots of crap by Haojun. He was still with his "squirrel stuffs".

I chose to follow the bus back to Pek Kio CC as I do not want the situation of the last show to happen again; missing the bus because I was short. Waited rather long for the bus. According to Guangyao coach, there was a traffic jam. Felt hungry but the Sunshine bread was all gave out. Hmm. We sat at one area far from our reporting area to wait again. Suddenly, an army guy brought two boxes saying that it was for martial house. Curious me wondered what was it. After the brown wrapper was torn, bars of Cadbury dairy milk chocolate was taken out. It wasn't a lot but surprising enough. Wow. As there wasn't enough to go around initially, Shunlong said that one bar have to be shared among four person. I continued staring into the thin air, thinking that there wouldn't be any for me. I was lucky to have a bar left for me after the distribution. Happy! Thank you! I think I was so tired that I forgot to receive it with both hands. Think I forgot to smile too. Sorry!

The chocolates were just out of the fridge. Cold and wet. I like the new packaging that is made of a thin cardboard so that it will not crush so easily in my bag.

The buses allocated to us finally arrived. We walked almost back to our reporting area to board the bus. While leaving the waiting area, I heard one army guy saying "ya, this is martian house". Martian house? Haha!

Tired me slept throughout the whole trip. Took my bus home after alighting at Pek Kio CC. Am glad that the bus was not packed. I managed to find myself a seat too.

NYP Wushu Lunch-Time Performance (20.07.2009)

Ran to clubroom right after my lesson. Went to buy my take-away lunch after knowing that there was still some time before the performance would commence. Ate half of my lunch and off I went to change and prepare.

Did some warm-up after reaching the atrium. The performing area sure was very small. There was once that I almost hit the chair of the "stall" near the performing area. For the sake of our performance, the people removed the "stage" so that we can perform on ground. I really can't imagine what will happen if we were to perform on the "stage".

I made a big mistake today. I am so disappointed with myself. I am so frustrated that I am on the verge of crying. I really felt like punching myself. Was a little shocked to see my mentor standing right in front of me that I forgot my routine for a moment. That same part that I made a mistake for the last performance. Concentration really seems to be a problem for me with the fatigue that I am feeling.

There may not be lots of audience watching. There may not be anyone looking at me and saw my mistakes. I am still however not happy with my performance. But I will continue to strive and do something to improve and achieve the desire standard.

NDP 2009 Theme Song - What Do You See?

I like the idea of this new song, singing the good things about Singapore without even mentioning the word "Singapore". The music is good too. The vocalist sure have a good voice. I am just not very sure of what the video is trying to present.

The lyrics contains some sort of motivation that I like it a lot. My favourite line is "Cos the sky’s the only limit when you’re not afraid to dream". Nice.

Here are the lyrics, enjoy!

Verse 1: There’s a jewel on the ocean,
a gem upon the sea
Where the future is an open book
A land of destiny
We could set our sights into the wind and sail the seven seas
or climb the highest mountain top as long as we believe
What do you see? What do you see?

Chorus: See the moon and the stars, look how far we have come
Look around at our faces, they shine brightly in the sun
With our hopes and dreams, imagine what tomorrow it may bring
What do you see? What do you see?

Verse 2: Now the time has come to reach out,
To open up to see
That we stand together in this land
Cos we are family
As thoughts of reaching to the sky are carried on a dream
With hearts and minds united, our dreams we will achieve
What do you see? What do you see?

Chorus 2: See the moon and the stars, look how far we have come
Look around at our faces, they shine brightly in the sun
With our hopes and dreams, imagine what tomorrow it may bring
What do you see…

Bridge: What do you see when life makes you take on a mountain
You’ll see that nothing’s gonna stand in your way
Together we can share
The strength of a million
and the courage of a million more

Chorus End: See the moon and the stars, look how far we have come
Look around at our faces, they shine brightly in the sun
With our hopes and dreams, imagine what tomorrow it may bring
Cos the sky’s the only limit when you’re not afraid to dream
What do you see? What do you see..

NYP Wushu Lunch-Time Performance (15.07.2009)

Rushed to clubroom right after my lesson. Find it weird when I see the block F corridor to be so quiet. Heard from Shuyan that the rest had went to the atrium already. Thinking that I was late, I took a slow stroll to the atrium to see the rest perform.

Reaching there, heard that there's still time so I quickly changed into my uniform. Practised the routine and did some warm-up. The long wait made me cooled down. Waited from around 12pm to 1pm till our turn.

Running to the performance area, the confident me lost confidence. I kept thinking about my injuries. Furthermore, I can't hear Fengwei's command. Imagine how loud the music was. Made mistakes that I have never made before. A little disappointed with myself for that. Guess I somehow lose the performance momentum. The bright side was that I was able to get myself back in track in time.

Went back to the clubroom later on. Had lunch together with the wushu people at North canteen. Nice.

NDP 2009 NE Show 1

Wore my new black shoe to perform. Kind of happy that it was drizzling while I was walking to the MRT station; I enjoy being in the rain. Holding on to my costume and squeeze into the packed train is not easy. Need to check on my costume constantly to make sure that the clippers were still keeping my costume in place and the hanger was not turning here and there. Met up with my people as usual and walked over to Pek Kio CC.

Reported to the same area at the F1 pit as usual. Alighting the bus, there was two guys standing near the exit of the temperature-taking tent distributing ice-cream. Took one chocolate flavoured ice-cream. All the cones in the box were of chocolate flavour. Walked past the person and did not take initially. Felt a little craving for it so I went back to take. The person accompanying the person who was distributing the cones was funny. He laughed at me and say "see, ask you to take already!" Haha.

Upon settling down, it was lunch time! We got some variety this round. Chicken rice, fish and chips, and somehing else. Three in total. Ate my ice-cream first before having my fish and chips. Dessert before main course. How rare of me. Tearing away the wrapper, I found out that my ice-cream had melted. Took my favourite Mr Bean soya milk while I was eating my ice-cream to save time. Went out and sit outside with my fellow people for our lunch later on as it was a little stuffy inside. Fengwei gave me lots of "presents" for all the "holidays" throughout the year. Haha.

After that, it was time for those whose costume have problems were to queue up to have it fixed. What a long queue! Almost all the people went to queue up. There was only one person who was doing the fixing. Since I doesn't have to queue up as my costume was alright, I went to take my Old Chang Kee and Milo. Wonder whether I went there late, the door of Old Chang Kee's van was closed. So I proceeded to collect my milo. Guess what, mine was really thick. The reason was that it was the base of the milo. Finishing soon too.

Took another ice-cream and went to consume it at the small platform outside gate 6 that I usually would sit. It was hot but there's ventilation. Christian was doing his stunts there; wushu's and MJ's.

Tried to study a little here and there. I kept moving around as it was very hot. Study inside the pit and outside the pit. Didn't get much into my brain as I wasn't able to concentrate. Parvin called and I chatted a ltitle with her. Shared my enthusiasm. While chatting, I say people taking Old Chang Kee. I went ot take a look. Wow! Long queue! They were distributing food! Yes! I went to join in the queue and took a mushroom chicken puff. Curry puff wasn't available. The milo truck was not there, saw it leaving earlier. Went back to share the good news that there's food.

Took two strawberry flavoured ice-cream. One for Yaxin and one for myself. Yes! I was aiming for the strawberry ice-cream. Have a "shopping" trip with her later on. Snapping pictures here and there. Fun! Drank 3 cups of milo and 2 cups soya milk I think. Can't remember. The conclusion was that I ate till I was very full and was unable to consume my dinner. The weather was so hot that I was almost "drinking" my strawberry ice-cream.

After so much eating, I became tired. Sat down with them at the queue. Tried to doze a little. After a while, our dinner was served. Hot pizzas! I didn't eat any as I was very full. Wasted. First time that I got hot pizza for NDP yet I wasn't able to eat.

After some time, the weather was not that hot. It even started to drizzlefor a moment. Went out to chill out after Ruiqi and Shuting had their costumes fixed. We were just in time to see the Red Lions in action! Cool! After that, it was time for us to change into our costume and get ready for the show!

I decided to bring my phone along. We gathered on the road as usual. Took a picture of myself in my costume with the lights on. The lights seems to be rather faint. Hmm. Anwyay, I am so happy that I got to video down the F-16s flypast. Located the position where I would see them during CR3, I find myself a good spot and waited for the planes to come. And as usual, we start marching to the floating platform after the flypast. Heard the "bombs". How I wish I could see it too instead of just hearing.

Upon reaching the promenade, I finally get to see the ushers' uniform. Personally, I prefer last year's design. I saw primary 5 kids running around too. It somehow reminded me of last year.

Besides from singing while I walked towards the backstageas usual, I snapped more pictures this time too. Wanted to take a pciture of the big dolls but they moved out before my camera got ready. Hmm. Saw the bhaskar people dancing in the grids but I did not dare to stop to take a picture. Hmm. Their costume is nice! We stayed at the tent for a while and it was our turn to be on stage!

There were two staircases for us to go up this time. Way faster. Put on my helmet and dida last testing for the lights on my costume. I was totally shocked when I switched the lights on. The lights did not light up! I kept hitting the batteries and did a few tries. The light just would not light up. How great was that. No choice. Ran out when the gates opened. I was so happy when I ran out. The audiences cheered so loudly for us! This somehow provided me with some strength.

I keep having to adjust my helmet as I wasn't able to breathe normally. Those actions of adjustments sure does not contribute positively to the performance. Doing the last pose for the flag routine, I chuckled. I was really happy. I didn't really looked out for the fireworks given out by the general near me. Ran out after lights out and felt stitch on the left side of my abdomen again. Guess I really need ot do some warm-up.

Upon exiting from gate 1. Shuyan told me that the helmet and cudgel that I was holding was hers. I was shocked when I saw her face. She sweated a lot! I was joking that she just washed her face in the Singapore River. Haha. Everybody who saw her was shocked too. Haha.

We then walked to gate 6 to prepare for the finale. There were other performers infront of us this time. No one entered from the steps infront of the stage this time. Didn't get my MA16. Hmm. A little stoned on stage though I tried to sway with the music. Singing halfway, big raindrops started hitting us. It turned into a heavy downpour within seconds. Happy! Everyone seemed to be very high-spirited out of a sudden. I sang the national anthem and took the pledge with pride. Rain water was entering my mouth while I was singing. Haha! Guess it was the first time that I got myself officially drenched.

I was taking videoes and snapping pictures while it was raining. My phone was drenched too! After the singing session, it's party time! The guys were doing their wushu stunts, splashing rain water here and there. Wanted to collect rain water with my helmet to splash people but the rain wasn't heavy enough. Joked with Herchuan and Haojun that it was a good time to shoot the "Herchuan's brand shampoo" commercial. Haha.

Got dispersal instructions after a while. I wonder why 20SA and martial house were asked to be the last to leave. Same as CR3. Hmm. We then walked down the steep slope to the tent at backstage. Stood there for almost an hour before the heavy downpour turned into drizzle. Had some fun within that hour. More snapping of pictures! Seniors did their mass "ba ji quan" in that small and squeezy area, catching attention of some NDP backstage workers. Christian as usual, did his MJ's moves. He taught me how to do the moonwalk too. Haha. After some moments of "high-ness", my energy was drained. My leg still hurts. Still can't stand for too long. So I squatted down and try to doze a little. The floor was too wet for me to take a seat. Thank you Haojun, Herchuan and Wushan for the concern. They thought that I was too cold.

Wenhui, my sparring partner came to look for me with a red heart-shaped later on. She gave that to me! So happy! =D Took a picture with her with that balloon. First picture that I ever took with her.

Start moving back to the F1 pit after the rain stopped. Took another steep slope. Packed our bag and set off for home. It was raining again. Drizzling. I decided to make my way home myself instead of going back to Pek Kio CC. Only this way that I would be able to have a seat on the bus. My leg was especially pain after soaking in the water for so long. Waited at the bus-stop near flyer. Overheard someone saying that the road was blocked so I made my way to the next bus-stop.

Missed one bus as I was opposite the road. Hmm. So I stood there and waited for the next one. Saw that the army guys were working really hard to restore the traffic. After moving the barriers, they were told to gather. The in-charge shouted really loud though. After they were released, the whole mass of them walked infront of me to another side of the platform. And this was the time when my bus arrived! I quickly stick out my hand and wave but the bus-driver looked straight and went pass me. My jaws almost dropped to the floor! As there was nothing that I can do about it, I waited for the next bus. This took me another 30 minutes. I waited for a total of almost an hour. Pathetic.

I reached home at around 12.30am. First time ever that I reached home so late. Mum made ginger tea for me to drink and ginger water for me to soak my leg. So sweet. =)

I seems to not have everything encoded into my mind. I wonder why.

NDP 2009 Combined Rehearsals

Finally done with all the combined rehearsals. The next performance would be NE show. I wonder how is it going to turn out. With the high-spirited primary 5 kids, I guess it's going to be a really new experience. This is especially the case as I didn't really dealt with any primary 5 kids last year.

The first combined rehearsal was really an eye-opener. It's my first time going to the F1 pit area. Exciteness. First time being so close to the flyer. First time walking from the flyer to the promenade. First time stepping onto the flosting platform.

Visiting there once more ever since last year was a different feeling. First time entering the promenade was of course excitement and amazement. After one year, stepping back there is a heart-felt joy; I really miss that place of happy memories.

It's another kind of feeling when I saw the stage. The pictures of the building of the stage was right before my eyes at that moment; I am a step nearer to NDP.

Setting my foot on the floating platform was total amazement. The structures. I could feel the hard work done for this sophisticated stage to be set up. All the effort from the people that make this stage so nice and safe for the performers.

The second combined rehearsal was another new experience. We finally get to see and wear our costumes.

The third combined rehearsal was cool. We have a birthday girl with us. Saw a new firework design. The double-layered heart. Nice!

Seeing the ushers somehow stirred up my almost cooled down emotions once more. It's nice to see people that I haven't seen for some time. Saw Alex from Heartware and Frank from SRJC. A little shocked that they remembered me though.

Go go go! =D

SAF Day Combined Rededication Ceremony 2009

I was so tired that I didn't hear my alarm ringing in the morning. Only woke up after my mum called me. My biological clock is "off-tuned" I guess. Can't sleep at night. Hmm. I washed myself up quickly and set off to work.

Squeezy train. I really dislike squeezing in train. I was wondering how the event will turn out to be while I was on my way there. I am so tired that I am almost like dragging myself to work.

Reached there rather early and my colleague had already arrived. Punched my card and I start to chat a little with that colleague. She asked for my age and showed my her photo taken while she was nineteen. Haha. Her zodiac animal is same as mine. What a coincident. Haha.

The in-charge was late. So I start work with that colleague first. I was made to carry all the things. Oh well. We were not able to do the routine checks as the layout were already set when we got there; goodie bags were placed at each seats and a big group of army guys had taken their seat.

Mr Teo Chee Hean was the guest of honour. I am not the VIP usher as there were not enough people. Hmm. Not bad that I got to see Mr Teo. Quite close. Haha. What I can say about him is that, he is t-a-l-l. As it was raining outside, Mr Teo was somehow held up. When he entered, he said loud and friendly "hello everybody". Wow. He cracked a joke while he went up for his speech after apologising for being late. I didn't catch the joke. Hmm.

It was then the giving out of trophies to some companies. I was really surprised. Giving prizes to some companies? What is it got to do with SAF? I totally have no idea of what was going on. More shocking was the appearance of representatives for Mary Chia Slimming and Beauty Specialist, Mr Bean and Old Chang Kee. The mentioning of that two brands sure makes me drool.

There wasn't too many problems for this event. It was a free and easy style. The event was so short that it ended very early. How I wished it was a little longer. Most of the time were spent tearing off the stickers. This part was really a waste of time and labour. My nailess fingers were rather redden after a while. Hmm. Anyway, the leftover goodie bags were given to us after the event. The number was really a lot. It was so many that the cleaners took a big black trash bag and store it. Haha. I took some. Gave one to Uncle Jimmy and one to the male Pipa player who happened to be there.

Bernard then asked me for the details of the event to fill up the form. I still have a question that was not answered; who was the in-charge? The supposed in-change didn't turn up in the end. Though it was a bit blur in terms of organisation, I would say that this event was generally a short moment of eye-opener.
