Eminent Speakers Series

It's an event that caused me to run about. The no-photography rule applies as usual. I spent most of my time catching people taking photos rather than drinking water. Tired. How cooperative they were.

The speaker was good I think. His English was commendable even though I don't really understand due to his accent. I didn't listen to anything he said. It's about economics. The higher level of economics. I find it a little boring as I don't understand a thing at all. Haha. A lot of the audiences seems to come from an economic field. Questions asked by them were rather "chim".

Time past really fast as I was being kept busy. I am the VIP usher again but ushered no VIP yesterday. Haha. The reason was that the security guard do not know that the VIPs were supposed to go through which door. Furthermore, the usual VIP seats were not used. It's the front seats that were chosen instead.

There were some miscommunication too. Instructions given and what the officials want seems to have a little conflict. Some officials doesn't seems to know what was happening too. Hmm.

After the event, I ran to pack my things and get everything ready. Rushed off once the clock strikes the time that I am able to be released.

As I was rushing like mad to the Marina Promenade, I accidentally dropped my new phone on the road! Oh man! Now my pretty phone got a big scar. Yes, a scar, not a scratch. Heartache. I shouldn't have ran. I should have known that it's a component rehearsal than a combined rehearsal so that I wouldn't have ran.

While working, I kept thinking about the rehearsal too. Guess that's a factor that contribute to making me forgetting the time too. Haha.

Wushu Mini Gathering at AMK Hub

After NDP training last Tuesday, a group of us went to AMK Hub to chill out. Our training had ended early due to the rain.

It was a little boring as most of the shops were closed. We decided to eat at FoodFare, hoping that it's still opened. William and Yeetian both ate Ice Kacang. Their way of eating was so different. As I sat in the middle, I keep looking left and right. Haha. One uncle spilled his newly bought food. Pity him. Think he tripped on one of the chairs.

We went to the arcade after that. I took the some of the postcards outside as usual. William played the "jubox". One thing I can say about that is that he is crazy. His coordination and speed was so good that my jaws dropped wide opened. I don't think I can even achieve half his speed. Haha.

We bid goodbye after that and head our ways home. =)

IT Show 2009

Went to Suntec City for the IT Show with Dad and Brother as I am intending to buy an external hard disk drive. Didn't bought any in the end as there were so many people and I spent most of my time squeezing than seeing and get to know more about the products.

The space there were rather limited. There were times when there was only a small narrow path in between two stalls. As there were lots of people walking, one can't stay long to have a detailed look at the products.

Some of the discounts are not genuine at all. For on particular product, it was sold at $x at level 4. It was a discounted price for a few sets only. The rest were $(x+y). However at level 6, the same product was sold at $x as the original price.

I think the duration can be stretched longer. Too many people squeezing at one time doesn't really helps in the sales. Having the event over a longer period of time may incur a higher cost of production. But I believe that they will obtain way higher sales to cover that.

The shops around did somehow benefit from this event. Many people after going for the show, went to the shopping centers around to shop as well. I bought a new flip flop for myself at Muji, love it. It's my first flip flop! =D While I was there at the shop, many other people were there shopping there as well. From what they were carrying in their hands, I can see that they have just left the convention center.

For this event, it's really an eye-opener for me.

Super Mini Wushu Gathering at Lot One

After the NDP training, a group of us went to Yew Tee Point to have dinner. As there we so many of us and we couldn't find tables to fit all of us, we broke into two groups. Some chatting and bonding session. I didn't eat anything as Grandma had cooked my dinner.

Made a trip to Ruiqi's house before going to the newly renovated Lot One. We then set off walking to Lot One with Her Chuan after that. It has been so many years since I last went there. There's only the three of us so it's a super mini gathering. Haha.

We walked and chatted. Stayed at Action City for some time as we were hooked on to the metal puzzles. Those puzzles sure is fun. The ideas are really good.

We went to the pasar malam later on. I was getting hungry and wanted to grab some food. Bought a cup of blueberry drink. Find it new so I bought a cup to try. It doesn't taste like blueberry at all. I forgot to ask uncle to put lesser ice. The whole cup was so cold that there were so many "smoke". Lol. I bought two packs of mini swiss rolls too.

We sat down and chat at a pole near the MRT station. It's a long chat on a various topics. Guess it will just go on if it's not too late; especially I live the furthest from there. We left at 10pm plus and I reached home at 11pm plus.

It's a fun journey. I have enjoyed myself. =D

SHS Sports Day 2009

The event was generally alright. As I wasn't able to make it for the meetings, I didn't hold any specific jobs. Injuries was inevitable. Glad that it's not a lot. Faizah's dressing skill sure is good. One participant injured her ankle and just a few moments later, her ankle is nicely bandaged.

It's captain's ball. Prizes were awarded to the winners. One participant really made me unhappy as he used vulgarities. His team was losing badly. Too stressed up for the vouchers? I wonder where's the sportsmanship. He even lectured another participant like he is a great person.

It rained before the finals. Had to wait for further instructions while waiting for the rain to stop. The whole thing supposed to end at 1pm. Dragged on due to the rain. Went off at around 1pm for NDP training. I wonder who won this year's champion.

The food was alright. The nuggets were more tasty than those ordered before. I wonder why. Bananas were provided as well. Haha. Cool.

SYCO 2009 - Young Voices

Today's performance was great! Didn't really have full enjoyment as I rushed there right after my NDP training and I haven't had time to eat anything. I was really hungry then. Some syndromes of being mild hypoglycaemic. Thanks Jiewei for helping me to carry my bag so that I can manage to punch my card in time. Thanks to those who cared for me too! =D

The music pieces were nice! Liked it. Hope to hear it again. How I wish I can play as well as them! This orchestra is what I hoped to join. Those high-spirited pieces sure made me feel happy. =D

I doesn't seems to be in a good working state today. Guess I am worn out. I tried to get the house programme but it ran out of stock. I didn't get to have the performers' autographs too. =\

The event ended rather late as compared to other SCO events. Took a taxi home with Jiewei and Yuting. I prefer to take a cab ride home than taking a train as it is really a lot faster.
