Formula One Grand Prix 2009

This is the second year that Singapore is hosting the night race. I can say that I am more "involved" in this year's race.

This was the first time for me to be stuck in the traffic jam due to the night race. This was due to the road of the bus that I have to take to work. The duration of road closure was reduced as compared to last year.

Good part was that I get to see more. A lot of people were deployed to help in the traffic. Diversion of the bus routes sure caused many problems for many. Saw a few red vechicles with big black words "special operations command" parked at different locations. Security sure is very tight. I would say that they had done a great job.

Reaching my workplace, I can hear the zooming of the formula one cars. Cool. First time hearing the sound "live". How I wish I can see them live in action. That would be really cool.

While the National Day Parade shows were going on, the barriers and gallery seats for the race were being slowly set up. I had once stepped on the tracks where the formula one cars ran that night.

Watched the live telecast but wasn't really interested. Seeing them going round and round made me feels bored. Guess I am more interested in knowing the winner. The sight of the pit area and the flyer brought back my NDP memories. Seeing the Marina Promenade, I realised that my memories are more of the pit area and the flyer as I spent more time there. I miss the flyer.

I wonder why the skies wasn't that bright this year as compared to last year's. Maybe different lightings were used I guess. I do not have much comments for this year's facilities. Heard that the system wasn't very good for the performance by the singers, especially when it was Asian singers that were performing.

Dad supported Button while I supported Hamilton. Pitied Hamilton for losing due to cheats used by the Champion last year. Saw the statistics of them in the magazine a classmate showed me a few days ago. Hamilton won seven races out of the fourty-seven that he had raced. Cool. His statistics was way better than Button's. Anyway, from the interviews, I can see that Hamilton is "burning with fire", full of confidence to win this race.

In any case, I would like to congratulate everybody for their effort in making this race a great success.
