Donuts

There is some form of donut fever going on at this moment. As many of you can see, there is a sudden emerge in the number of donut-selling shops. Furthermore, the donuts seems to have taken a new look - they are smaller and their designs are more sophisticated. Those 'traditional' donuts (a simple ring donut with sugar coating) seems to be shoved away from the bakeries shelves. Those that are usually sold at around 50cents each are now sold at nearly $2 each. Being someone with sweet tooth and rather crazy with the traditional donuts, this somehow has frustrated me when I wanted to buy that traditional donut.

Anyway, there is one particular shop that I love buying donuts from it although it is a little more expensive than the traditional donuts. It is 'pop doh' donut house located at Ngee Ann City's basement. The donuts did not rise in price when the donut fever starts. The price has somehow stayed the same. It is sold at around $1 plus each. What most important is the unique taste of the donuts. I think they use a different kind of flour to make the donuts because the texture of the donuts are very different from the other donuts that are found in other shops. The unique taste makes the price paid worth. Unlike the other donut shops, they just shrunk the donuts and appeal to customers through the different designs only.

Comparing the design of pop-doh's donuts and other donuts, the former one is in a way unique too. Some of their donuts seems to be plaited into a ring! In addition to that, the size of the donuts are around the same as the traditional donuts. What's further appealing is that the donuts will not harden even though it is kept overnight or refrigerated, unlike the other commonly seen donuts. It really does worth the price paid.

Of all the various donut shops that I know of, I prefer pop-doh's donuts. Maybe, you should give it a try. =)

the doughnuts are so sweet, as though sugar is cheap/free.

i dun understand why pple would want to queue for like half an hr and above for those donuts. it's just plain old donuts with super sweet toppings.

btw, the durian pancakes in amk hub near the ntuc there is quite nice. got a lot of durian inside one. haha.
