Took a long time to get to sleep on Friday's night. Wonder is it due to the nap I took in the evening or me being too excited for the NE show the next day. I woke up early, ate one roti prata with cheese and ham, and one cup of ovaltine. Watched my show, Robin Hood, halfway, while preparing to go out and went to the floating platform.
It feels really cool to go out hands-free because I usually would bring my sling bag whenever I go out. I feel a little disappointed at first when I know that I am posted to the blue sector. The reason is that I don't get to take pictures or videos when I am on duty. On the bright side, blue sector is nearest to the fireworks! Haha! I reached there early, met Hui Teng coincidently at the esplanade bus-stop, so we went in to the blue mezzaine together. We spent most of the time waiting before it is lunch.
After lunch, it's the briefing of what to do by the in-charge. I wanted to be mobile ushers at first, but ended up to enjoy being the static usher more. Haha. I am suppose to be in charge of the blue sector while it turned out to be the orange (yellow chairs) and red (red chairs) sector. Ushering the public seems to be easier than ushering the students as the public just want to sit with their family and friends while for schools, the students must sit with class, which is a larger group. I think that's a tougher job.
Even though I have to stand under the hot sun ushering the public and dehydrate a lot, I enjoyed myself a lot. As I have to ask people for the colour of their tickets, my throat is a little hurt after a while because I have to talk rather loud in order to compete with the loud music. Since all the orange ticket holders have to walk pass me in order to get to their seats, I get to say hi to Shaun. Wanted to throw him into the water but he came at the time when the public surge in. Smart huh. I am jealous that he got to have the tickets. Haha. Anyway, I am very glad that the public are rather cooperative yesterday.
I get to have a break and watch the show when the late-comer plan is executed. I finally can stand in the shade at the staircase. I did stand in the shade and usher some of the people at some point of time. But it's not very long as I have to keep switching position - entrance, staircase, entrance, staircase... Anyway, the army personnel in charge of my area is quite nice. Seeing that Meilin and I are pondering about the sign near the staircase, he just tell us what is it about without we asking him. Haha. After ushering the people for some time, he go around asking each usher individually whether there are any problems faced. Responsible huh. I didn't face any problems until I went back into the shade to usher the public. That army personnel wasn't there when I need his help. d0tX. Got help from the heartware EXCO in the end. Haha. There is also another army personnel at my area too. He is a bit odd and of not much help to me. Got some contradicting instructions from the previous personnel that make the ushers in my area confused. Haha.
After the show starts, media are running around, trying to get the best shot. Some army guys squeeze at the staircase that I am in-charge of and block the way. Sian. Both Wei Shan and I even have problems standing at our positions. Wei Shan is the girl who is in-charge of the yellow sector staircase and some seats initially. Being nice, Wei Shan ask a mediacorp guy to do his flim quickly as he is blocking the audience's view. Guess what happened? That guy shouted at Wei Shan that he is doing his job. So bad. Anyway, heard that he got scolded later on by someone else. Haha. Media so 大牌 meh. d0tX.
For the flight show, I got to know more of what is going on today. Being at the VIP site is really different. Close-up view of the march, the MP, and of course the best view of the flight show. The heart-shaped flight show is what I am waiting for. Don't why yesteday's left side of the heart-shape is distorted. I am soooo high that one guy in black kept laughing at me.
I get to see Adrian Pang, Michelle Chia, Jean Danker and Mr Teo Chee Hsien in person too! Mr Teo waved at Wei Shan and me leh!! Lol! Anyway, those simulated ministers are rather poor things because all the people are mocking at them. This is especially the case for an army guy who took a sign indicating that he is "CM", which I do not know what is it.
Got a close-up experience of the "dry fire" and "21 sound of bomb". COOL! The dry fire is really loud because I am so near! Haha! Fireworks is loud too, but not that loud. As I am the only in-charge for the staircase at a later time, I watch the fireworks alone, so dare not scream that much. Haha. I am the main in-charge throughout anyway. Haha. It's rather odd that Meilin got 4 people at her staircase while only me alone at my staircase. People are still leaving even though the fireworks are going on. So I have to keep turning back and front to watch the fireworks and usher the people at the same time as I don't want them to cause a borrlw-neck by stopping at the staircase to view the fireworks.
For the performance, because I went for dinner, which I only ate a little because it's not very tasty and I am not that hungry, I missed the martial arts! Argh! Well, feel that it's alright after finding out that it's not Chinese martial arts. Haha. Well, I get to see some glitters shot into the sky as the venue for dinner is at the funpacks area, very near where the glitters are released. Cool! These glitters are something like the fireworks. Haha. But since it's the evening, it's not fireworks of course. Haha.
Standing for hours at my position is really tiring. Feels rather irritated when I am so tired and things were not going well. Feel good that people did stop to take the pledge and sang the national anthem even though they are on their way to leave the gallery. After all the people have left the gallery, I finally can sit down on the steps. Sat there for so long yet no instructions were given. Feeling sooooo sian, I went to the toilet while Meilin help me to refill my bottle. Upon going back to our positions, we feel sian so we went to take a walk. Found out that the blue sector in-charge is having a debrief with the other people in the blue sector for that day. We reached there late and they didn't update us on what they have said. Feel rather irritated that information is not passed to us for the debrief. Haiz. After the blue sector debrief is the overall debrief. Sat there for very long before it starts. A lot of people are complaining. The reason is that all the performers are released and we are still sitting there and wait. Think yesterday's job is more demanding that's why I am more tired than last week, causing me to feel like throwing tantrums and feel like crying. Haha.
Overall, I quite enjoyed and am looking forward to know my deployment for NE show 3. I must be stronger both mentally and physically! Gambatte! ^^

NDP NE show 1
I was deployed to the funpacks section. But I didn't do much because I went there late, reached at around 6.40pm plus I think. Missed some flight show though. I was there late due to wushu fliming. It's a rather exciting day I must say. Ran like mad after wushu to rush down to the floating platform. Being the first time there, I am not sure which gate I am suppose to enter. Just in case of some unnecessary misunderstanding, I called KS to bring me in. Am really paisei to give him rather much trouble on that day. Haha. Quite nice of him to meet me at the bus-stop and lead me the correct way.
The people are singing the national anthem when I reach the floating platform. The huge helicopters carrying the Singapore flag flew pass. Am a little disappointed that I did not manage to take a picture of it. I jumped and waved at the helicopters even though I know that no one will wave back. Haha. Feel a little guilty later that I didn't stop to sing the national anthem. =X
Knowing that I am already late, I still run like mad because I want to catch the flight show. It's dinner time when I reach there. After having a hard time looking for Jolene and the others who are deployed to the funpacks, I took my food, leave it with Binbin, then went to see the flight show. Missed the starting though. Managed to take some videos and pictures. As I thought that I cannot view the show totally, I am a little disappointed at first. Since I manage to view it in the end, I became really high-spirited. Got a close-up view of the heart-shape drawn by the planes. it's really COOL! The angles, the closeness of the planes, and the smoke released, everything is so perfectly done!
After that, as we are not sure where we can go, we dare not go anywhere. Sat behind the gallery and daydream for a rather long time though. It's really hot and stuffy. The air there isn't very good because there is so much exhuast gas released by the vehicles. Went to peep at the stage once in a while. Saw the cute balloons attached at the sea, I brought Jolene over to see, hoping to cheer her up a little. Everybody is so sian at the back lor. Guess what? After I brought Jolene there, the fireworks begun!! We went to the stairs and view it. As we are blocking the way, even though we stood at the side of the stairs, we didn't stay long. Luckily Cherie come to the rescue! She brought me to the gallery where volunteers are allowed to stand. WOW! It's the top of the gallery seats. I took videos of the fireworks again. Haha. Saw the lighted-up Singapore flyer for the first time too. After the fireworks, I sang the Singapore songs too. Some sort of miss it as the national day celebration in SRJC last year is so nothing to do with national day. d0tX. Anyway, I took the pledge and sang the national anthem. Haha. Something that I miss again. Haven't been doing that ever since the last day of school at SRJC. Haha. The fireworks really make me feel super high.
Went back to the holding area after that. Feel a little bad that the rest are still sianning there. Took a walk with Adelyn, Meilin and Liping. Got to see some of the props used by the performers and get to fill my bottle with some fake orange juice. Haha.
I am deployed to the blue sector tomorrow. Think I will get to see the performances bahz. Haha. Heard that there is wushu and chinese opera, I really don't want to miss it. Haha.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Watched the movie on one of the episode of the chronicles of Narnia yesterday. It's really a nice film I must say even though there are some flaws here and there with the flow of the story. Which film is flawless anyway?
How the film is shot is really amazing. The scenes seems so continuous with no flaws at all. The job done by the makeup artists is superb. Even though I had read 6 episodes out of the 7 episodes, I hope that all the episodes are shot into movies. Reading the stories from books is a pleasure as well, just that watching the show would provide me with more understanding of the story.
It has been years since I have read the story of Narnia. Around six years. I have forgotten most of the stories. How I wish that I can read it again. What I remember is that the first book is the best. "The Magician's Nephew". The characters are different from the rest of the book as it talks about the start of Narnia. The book that I have not read at all is "The Last Battle". As I borrowed the books from my primary school when I first read all these books, I wonder where I can find the books now.

Apple Turnover
The puff in the picture above is filled with apple paste. The taste is alright, but I prefer the fillings to be cubed apples rather than the paste. The layered crust is really tasty and it tastes better when it is hot.
I bought this at FairPrice Xtra. It's about $2 for a pack of 2. I would prefer to buy it at a lower price though. I once ate a mini version of the turnovers at the Raffles Convention Centre. The mini turnovers have some nuts stuck on its crust. I would say that it's more tasty than the one from FairPrice. But, the filling, is the apple paste instead of cubed apples.

Pizza
So glad that my group leader for the NDP bay ambassador treated the whole group to Pizza Hut today. First there is the chicken soup, as I chatted on the phone, it had already turned cold by the time I ate it. But, the taste is still alright. It would taste better if I ate it when it is served warm.
What come next are the pizzas! Hawaiian and seafood! I took one piece of seafood followed by two pieces of hawaiian. Yum-yum. The hawaiian pizza is really tasty.
The picture above is the seafood pizza. The sotong really looks like hor fan. The taste of the sotong is not that tasty I must say. Overall, the taste is alright, got some sweet stuffs added too.
This picture is the hawaiian pizza! It's really tasty. The cheese is really yummy even though no extra cheese powder is added when eaten. I added cheese powder for the two different flavours of pizza that I ate by the way. Yummy!
The crust of the hawaiian pizza is rather thin. Thinner than usual. The size of the pizza is not very big too. That's why I am able to eat three slices. Whee~

Know Your Limits
The main aim of exercise is to keep yourself healthy. It would defits the purpose of exercise if it is to be done excessively and improperly. Some factors must be taken note of while exercising to prevent the body from being harmed. Hydration is one of the main thing to be taken note of.
Besides from doing the necessary warm up, exercise should not be continued if you are not feeling well. Some may feel that they are uncomfortable in a way because they did not do their warm up well or they have not been exercising for a period of time. They would continue with their exercise because they somehow had reached a certain standard in the past. Well, as everybody's physical limits is changing constantly, any unwell felt must be taken note of. It is not recommended for one to continue exercising with any uncomfort felt.
Exercise through playing game may sometimes get one so engrossed in the game that they forget to hydrate themselves. Some may even focus so much on winning that they exert themselves over their body limits. This is something that is to be taken note of.
According to what I watched from a TV programme, it is recommended for one to drink 200ml of water every 30 minutes. For people who have just exercised, drinking of condensed water is not recommended as there may be dire consequences. Drinking of water that contain calcium and some other nutrients would be better.
Anyway, in short, I believe that you know your body well and what does the signals shown represent. Enjoy exercising with awareness!

NYP WuShu Orientation Camp 2008
I just had my 3 day 2 night camp from 9/6 to 11/6. In short, even though it's tiring, FUN!! I still can't stop thinking about the camp. How I wish that it last for a longer period of time. First camp that I enjoyed so much I guess. Not just me, others also can't seems to take their thoughts off the wushu camp. I am still feeling rather high about the camp. LOL!
The games are really interesting. Exercised a lot, my muscles are still aching now. I enjoyed the morning physical training (PT), but it's a little vigorous I must say.
On the first day, we had the wushu amazing race. There are 6 medals to be collected in this section. My group, Jotomate, managed to get 5, not bad. We came in second. Wonder if the first would be us if the people in my group had moved faster. Being the group leader of Jotomate, I feel honoured to have the chance to lead, and a little guilty for not being a competent one. Sorry, people! Thanks for bearing with me too! I still feel rather paisei for the part which we are suppose to feel some things blindfolded. It's the paper cranes that I touched in the first box. I screamed as I thought I touched crockroach's wings. Other people are saying that it is crockroach inside the box. Feel more paisei during the dinner when we are to do some reflections for the day. As I am eating, Jiangda tell the rest that I screamed touching Bobo, the wushu's mascot, which is in the second box. =.=" It's his station but it's not Bobo that made me screamed and hit the table, earning myself a bruise on my right knee. He imitated me saying that I like teddy bear in the ice breaking in the morning (with a twist, the peace hand sign). He further add on that I totally freaked out after touching Bobo. =.=" Oh well...
Later at night, there are some wushu warm up followed by the island game. I went to the side to take a rest after doing some warm up as I start to feel a little giddy and a little breathless. I didn't take part in the island game too. I felt a little lonely at first sitting at the side. Well, Jeremy, one of the seniors, came to chat with me after his warm up because it is time for the island game. Other seniors also showed me their concern too. So nice of them. =)
As I am afraid that I may feel unwell again, I went home after taking my bath. I broke my record for bathing rather fast by the way! Haha! Missed the discussion and grouping for the fusion night that would be taking place on the second night of the camp though. Being the responsible president of wushu, Jiangda accompanied me to the bus stop where I waited for my auntie to drive me. He only left after I board the car. So paisei to give him all the trouble. =3
After I reached home, I couldn't sleep. I wonder why. I went to school early. Reached there at about 6.15am while I am supposed to reach at 6.45am. While others are preparng for the PT, I lie on the floor and try to get some rest. I am rather worried that I cannot take part in the PT. Well, I managed to in the end. Had fun the whole day even though I feel tired due to that I didn't slept the whole night. Haha. The second day is the best as I enjoyed myself a lot. It's the water games, captain's ball and fusion night!!
The first part of the water games is the minesweeper. Step on the bombs and get a pail of water poured on you. Getting the first pail of water is not fun. Subsequently, we are asking for more water. Haha. We jumped into the medium pool in the end. Haha. Wei Mun actually wanted us to play two games in the pool. But due to time constraint, we only played the "fish net". This is the second part of the water games. As I don't really know how to swim, I choose not to escape when I am surrounded. Haha. Guess what? The winner of the game have to do forfeit. Odd. Haha. There are two winners that escaped the clutch of the fish net. Haha. I did manage to swim a little. Really miss swimming though. Haha. Liyan almost drowned because Alvin pushed her into the water. His face turned white after seeing what happen to Liyan. Phew, I really salute to Liyan for her bravery to stay calm in the water. I wonder what will I do if it happens to me. Alvin did tried to pull me into the water, I was rather surprised that I managed to pull myself back. Phew. I thought he has more strength than me. (I am always not strong for some reasons.. =.= I will be strong soon!!)
Captain's ball. I am the ball catcher. Haha. My team ROCKS!! Those people who really pass the ball from the opponent side to me are really great! Jeremy, Skye, Han Xing, Edward?, Liyan... I can't really remember other people. Haha. Heard that Skye did some nice moves while fighting for the ball; 弓步、一只马.. Think he and Jeremy hurt themselves somehow. Hope that they are okay.. I feel a little stress at my position at times because Wenyi, from the opponent team, stand very near me. He keep saying that he is tired and want to rest on the back of the chair that I am standing. But, odd enough, he hit the ball many times away from my reach. =.=" I am really jealous that he can jump so high. I used the ball to hit his head lightly before giving him the ball after the first goal. Didn't expect that I really hit his head the next time I pass the ball to him, which is after the third or fourth goal. Oops. =X Anyway, my team won in the end with a score of 7 to 1. Haha! The opponent team scored one point after adding 3 more seniors into the game. But, my team scored one more point as well! The score was 6 to 0 initially before the seniors join in. The three people are Jessen, Jiangda and one more person that I can't remember. Haha. my team really rocks. A guy from the opponent team came to me and said something like "你接球的功夫挺不错嘛". Think is something along that line, can't really remember though. Haha. I really have a sense of fulfilment. Think I have never did so well playing other games. Haha. The opponent team changed a few ball catcher while my team didn't. Haha.
Night training, we played dog and bones. I wouldn't say it's very fun because I run very slow. =.= Nevermind about that. Haha.
For fusion night, I am the narrator for my group, replacing the original narrator who is absent. I don't know how to spell his name though. Haha. Anyway, even though I didn't get to perform, being the narrator is rather nice. Haha. As it was done last minute for me, I am very happy with the overall performance. Haha.
After the performances is the human checkers and the viewing of video. Haha. I keep losing very fast in the human checkers. First time played this game. Watched the people in SRJC played before though. Haha. The story of the video watch is rather nice even though the story is a little expected. Haha. It's cartoon anyway. Went to sleep at around 12.30am. Actually, I wanted to study, but didn't want to in the end after seeing the seniors crowding around the table. I wanted to take another table, but dare not because I think it belongs to another CCA. I am scared that I may be scolded too. Scared that I am too tired and cannot take part in the next day activities too. So, I tried to sleep. Slept at 12.30am, woke up at 1.30am because it's freeeeezing cold and the floor is really hard. Slept at around 3.30am to 5.30am again, took my lecture notes and tried to study. Too tired to concentrate and it's still cold. So I kept my lecture notes and take a seat at the table owned by another CCA with Huanhuan, trying to 闭目养神.
Went for PT when it's time. I finally get myself warmed up with the jog as the weather is still rather cold after the heavy rain in the night. After PT, breakfast! It was then followed by a mini birthday celebration for the May and June babies. It's a fruit cake. The top is filled with strawberry, kiwi and mango. I didn't get the strawberry! =.= Anyway, Jing Ting is suanned for not wanting to take the cake because of the side of the cake is coated by almonds.
Well, before breaking the camp, there is the reflection section and the revealing of guardian angels. We have to pick the person to take care and be their guardian angel throughout the camp during the ice breaking. I am Wenyi's guardian angel. I still don't know who is my guardian angel! =S Anyway, for the reflection part, think I missed to say some things. Maybe I can suggest that we pen it down somehow before sharing our views.
The food for the camp, I don't really like it. The rice is rather hard and dry. I feel rather guilty to waste quite an amount of food. I only manage to finish the chicken rice totally. That's the dinner for the first day. Managed to finished most of the dinner for second day except the meat that I have some problem chewing. I forget to review that the night training shouldn't be held so close to dinner.
Anyway, there still seems to be a lot more things to be written. Haha. The seniors are really nice. They took the initiative to interact with us knowing that we are shy.
I really enjoyed the camp. Wushu rocks!

Warm up!
Having sufficient warm-up is very important before attempting any exercise that are vigorous. This is to prevent muscle tear and spams for it would be really unpleasant.
I did some moves the other day without warming up and somehow sprained my ankle the other day because the muscles at my thigh is not ready for that sudden move.
Just want to remind you to remember to stretch well and get your body well warmed-up before attempting any vigorous exercise no matter how rush you are. I believe that you do not want to hurt yourself, with the fact that you are exercising to keep yourself healthy rather than hurting yourself.
A little tip here. Have a slow jog to warm up your muscles before doing stretching. This is to prevent you from tearing your muscles if you were to pull too hard.
Enjoy exercising!

Exercise
There are a lot of excuses that can be thought of and be used to get one throw his or her plan to do some exercise away. Instead of just jogging, one can choose to do some sports like swimming or badminton. They can sign up for lessons if they want to do the sports yet do not have the techniques.
Besides from sports, one can also choose to take up yoga classes or martial arts type of classes. It's not really sports but exercises that keep the body healthy.
If all these doesn't suits you, you can choose to take a stroll for about 15 to 30 minutes. Though it is not that vigorous type of workout, it's a form of exercise too. Instead of taking a bus ride to the train station, walking to the train station can be tried. Exercise and save money, cool huh?
For me, I don't really like the idea of going to an air-conditioned gym to workout. The main idea is to sweat out. I really enjoy jogging and the idea of learning yoga and martial arts though.
Wishing you healthy! ^^

Minesweeper
Besides from a small component that depends on luck, minesweeper also need the player to think logically. The number in a square would indicate the number of mines around it. So players have to take note of it and choose which squares to click next.
For the game built-in in the computer, players are required to click all the areas where there are no bombs at all. However, the case is different in the MSN. Players have to click on the flagged squares to gain points.
This game is really fun as it can somehow trains the mind and relax the mind at the same time even though it may seems boring at times. Hope that this forgotten game that you know of may once again gain your interests. Enjoy!
