I met DaYuan, WeiYuan and Lionel at whitesands to get Rendy's present before heading to his chalet at Paris Ris Coasta Sands.
After exploring the while shopping centre, we finally decided to buy a box of chocolates and a box of elegant cookies from NTUC. We then buy a nice paper bag from comics connection to make the present presentable. Due to my miscalculations, WY paid extra $3 and he didn't want it back. I feel so bad about it.
We headed over to the chalet and we appeared to be the first group of people to turn up. We volunteered ourselves to carry chairs and tables from the cafe. It's really funny when Rendy said "thank you volunteers". Haha. At that moment, I think that he has the make of a good volunteer leader.
We met another Chingay volunteer there and we had fun playing monopoly deal. We played till it was time for cake-cutting. I volunteered to take pictures for him with his camera for all the group photos. My group seems to have dominated the whole thing. Hmm. I attempted to get some artistic photos but all seems to fail.
The other volunteer from Chingay surprised me when he guessed that I am from wushu. He commented that he drew the conclusion from the way I dressed. Just as what I have suspected, he was trained in wushu before. I hid the truth and said that it's just clothes. I have wanted to keep low profile on this but my clothings obviously gave me away to people who were trained in wushu; I went to help out for the NDP photoshoot at Hong Wen School before heading over for the chalet.
After the cake cutting ceremony, Rendy joked that he is taking circle line home with us and I actually believed! I can't believe that I actually took his words for real then. I am amazing.

Yu Yue's 21st Birthday Party [23.04.2011]
Met YuRi to head over to the chalet so that we can play mahjong. I ended up sitting at the side watching TV because YuYue was already playing mahjong with her friends and YuRi managed to get himself a seat. Bored.
It was only after a while that I got myself a seat at the mahjong table. Learned the tiles way and won one round of game with a lot of tiles that I can just take to complete the set. There was so many tiles that I could get that when I got one of the tiles, I stared at my set of tiles for very long while I tried to sort it out. The guy that sat beside me told me that I had won and asked me what am I waiting for? He was the pro there.
After a few rounds, I went to look for WY who was a frequent visiter to e-hub then. He bought two subway cookies for me and asked me to claim it from him. He sent me back to the chalet after we hang out around e-hub for a while.
I went back to e-hub again with the SCH people as more charcoal was needed for the BBQ. I went to fetch my brother from the bus-stop along the way. On the way to the chalet, we saw the SCH people buying bubble tea. Bro was asked to carry the charcoal to the chalet first. I guessed I offered to help but it ended up to be Bro carrying it. Oops.
I passed the present to YuYue and I am so glad to see how happy she was to receive it. The way that it was wrapped was the best design that I have ever created. Love it. As Bro was not able to get a present in time, I just added his name in for that. I totally love my creativity.
YuYue got a very nice birthday cake. I guess her favourite colour is white. The cake was a white chocolate coated chocolate cake in the shape of a yangqin, the instrument that she is specialised in. A red rose from Gerald was placed on top for decoration. Nice.
After cake-cutting, I spent time grilling satay YuRi. Fun. I have not BBQ food personally before. My face was burning hot and I felt as if the skin on my face can dry up and peel off anytime. Whoa.
After bidding goodbye, Bro and I went home together. This is the first time that I attended a birthday party with Bro. Bro told me that his friends commented that I do not know how to dress up and asked me how I feel to hear that kind of comment. It really made me feel good when Bro commented "anyway, what is there to dress up?" Yea, exactly! I don't see anything wrong with t-shirt and jeans. It's a casual event. Just because my style is different doesn't mean that I am wrong. I am simply, unique.

Why I Chose to Practice Wushu
This is an article that I have wrote and submitted to youth.sg some time ago. It wasn't published so I guess it was rejected. It is basically some thoughts of mine that I think it would be nice to share.
Synopsis: What is the first thing that would come to your mind when you hear the word "martial arts"?
When the term, "martial arts", is mentioned, people would usually link it to either taekwando, judo or karate. I, however, would beg to differ.
After I graduated from my two years of 'extreme' junior college education, I wanted to have a change in my life, embarking on my journey to a more healthy and more happening lifestyle. Having said that, I don't deny that I do somehow have some influence by those action fighting scenes in movies with kung fu masters combating their opponents suavely. Scanning through the list of the co-curricular activities (CCAs) that were available in my new institution, I eventually made up my mind and decided to join the Zhong Hua Wu Shu Club.
By joining wushu, I can fulfil my desire of experiencing the fun-filled excitement with the cool stunts such as the flying kicks. Having a healthier lifestyle is inevitably one of the take-away due to the motivation to train weekly and consistently.
There are basically two main classifications of routines in wushu: the traditional and the competitive. It is then further categorised as fist routines, short weapon routines, long weapon routines and soft weapon routines. Besides from the commonly seen sword and cudgel (commonly known as the "wooden pole"), there are a lot more uncommon weaponary routines that are practiced by the wushu trainees. Examples are the nine-section whip, double er-mei pierces and double iron forks. Listing them all would make this article too long-winded so make a search on the internet to have a view of the awesome weapons.
In wushu, it is not just about learning how to do the stunts and memorising the routines for the sake of attaining the next level of belt. (Yes, wushu have belt levels too) It is also about the lessons of life. My three years of training in wushu has changed me tremendously, increasing my level of self-confidence and allowed me to be more calm in times of crisis as compared to the past. It is also about having the self discipline and the tenacity infused in oneself in order to achieve the goal that I am aiming for.

Blog Revival
It has been so long since I last posted something on my blog. Now that I have completed my part-time coursework with the London Southbank University, it's time to get my life back.
I am trying to maintain my social life, having meetups with friends that I have not seen in a long time.
I have worked full-time for a year now and I have just started doing on-calls. The money looks good but I am not liking the working requirements. I seriously prefer shift work so that staffs will not be over-drained. There still seems to have lots of room for improvement in the system.
I am planning on starting an online shop with facebook as the main platform. Things that I want to sell are basically handmade items. I am interested in having other designers sharing the platform with me too. These people are however only limited to friends. I have a real cool idea but what's tough is creating the items. Creating a page in facebook with the terms ready is not a problem as I have Dreamz Design.
I wouldn't say that Dreamz Design is totally closed. I still want to provide customisation services. What people mistook about Dreamz Design is that I own a factory that print t-shirts. Oh my. That is something that needs to be rectified.
Now that I am freed, I need to revive this blog that I have not been touching for such a long time! I need to start earning money through blogging again. I need ot get my blog traffic back. Yes, I must not forget about my multiply.com blog as well.
Singapore Conference Hall has changed. Now I need to try to get myself back there as my name was deleted. I am sensing something as I communicate with the current staff. I hope what I am feeling is not true.
I will try to use back the style of writing that I have been using. Hopefully it's not a drastic change as I am not the same anymore. =)

NDP 2011 Theme Song - In A Heartbeat
This is the theme song for this year's NDP. It was sang by Sylvia Ratonel and performed live by Sharon Au and another Mediacorp artiste on National Day Parade.
The performance was presented in the form of a musical. I like the song as it is not focusing on the singer as what it has usually been for the past few years. I have always believed that NDP theme songs should be songs that can be sung by all the people. That is what Singapore spirit is when we can sing the song in one voice.
Lyrics:
I have a dream of starting a life
I have a hope, a flame alight
This is the moment, freedom is calling
This is my start, a new beginning
I have a heart, it beats for you
A step at a time, our spirits renew
Living together under the sun
Our hearts will beat as one
CHORUS
In a heartbeat, I’ll be there for you
In a heartbeat, no one else will do
In a heartbeat, we will always be
Together, united; you and me
In a heartbeat, time has passed us by
In a heartbeat, we will reach the sky
In a heartbeat, this will always be
Our people, our country
This is our family.
We found a home on this land
This is the place where we can
We have a part, a role to play
It’s time for us to stay
In a heartbeat, time has passed us by
In a heartbeat, we will reach the sky
In a heartbeat, this will always be
Our people, our country
This is our family.
BRIDGE
Nothing will stand in our way
We can be strong today
The flame is alive
This is our life
CHORUS
In a heartbeat, I’ll be there for you
In a heartbeat, no one else will do
In a heartbeat, we will always be
Together, united; you and me
In a heartbeat, time has passed us by
In a heartbeat, we will reach the sky
In a heartbeat, this will always be
Our people, our country
This is our family.

Time Rhapsody
This event was kind of exciting as the guest-of-honour was SM Goh Chok Tong. It's an event with much to learn. I prefer the security pattern used for this event than my previous event when PM Lee Hsien Loong was the guest-of-honour.
I was kind of disappointed that I did not get to be the VIP usher all because of some troublemaker. But I was kind of glad that I can be considered a VIP usher in the end as SM Goh exited from my door! Not bad.
I got to help with blocking of the middle pathway and guide the patrons while YuRi man the entrance. I was happy initially till a guy hit my butt. I clear the crowd efficiently when one of invited guest with a Dato status hit my butt with his hand. I was shocked. I do not know whether it was accidental or intentional. I did not scream or do anything. Deep in my mind, it was clearing the crowd and ensure that no one gets near SM Goh. Part-time security guard I guess.
My heart sanked but I continued to carry out my duty. I could not stop thinking about it. I was angry when he grabbed my arm after a while to ask me to do what I was doing then; not allowing the patrons to get near SM Goh. I felt like slapping him and give hime a piece of my mind but the crowd was overwhelming. What's done cannot be undone anyway. The thoughts were suppressed by my duty. I realised something about myself; I suppress a lot of things and I don't think I will make a noise even if I am molested. This is not supposed to be the way but I really do not know what to do. This wasn't the first time already. Going back to my position after the crowd was cleared, I was feeling really terrible. I can't really enjoy the beautiful pieces played by the orchestra, not even my favourite piece that was rarely played.
I thought I am not the old me anymore. Or rather, I am not the old me anymore, but why do I still can't do anything about this? I feel so useless.
