The soloist for this event sang some nice songs though I thought there is still room for improvement. This was the first time that I heard hong lou meng being sang.

This event was held some time ago and I can't really remembered what had happened. If I am not wrong, the people were still rehearsing for a song while we went in to do teh routine house checks and briefing. Though there were still room for improvement, I can see that they are giving their best for the performance.

As special instructions were given, three ushers including me stood at door four for standby. YuRi seemed excited to first time having four ushers at one door. I listened to the encore of the hong lou meng again. Choir is definitely still not something I know how to fully appreciate yet. Still need some time I guess. The hong lou meng was sang with the accompaniment of a Chinese Orchestra. What I can say about the orchestra is that there is really a big room for improvement.

Hokkien Classics

The sales of the tickets was so overwhelming that extra seats were added on the first day of the event.

As I do not really understand the Hokkien language, the concert seems too "ge tai" for me. Many of the things spoken sounded alien to me. The female singer from Taiwan have a nice voice. Her gestures was so unique that I have never seen before. I think that her makeup is a little too thick and she will look neater with her hair tied up if she wants her big gestures while singing.

The person that played the drum with his legs placed on top of the drum to create the variation in note is quite hilarious. It was his gestures that brought the entertainment. The whole crowd laughed their fill when he forgot to take his shoes after the performance, running back to retrieve the shoes he left at the side.

I have to report early on the second day for the pre-event talk. It was fun with all the craps communicated through the walkie talkie. There was a moment when Reuben played music on his handphone and blasted it through the walkie talkie. PeiShan was very quiet and YuRi started disturbing her through the walkie talkie after he reached the loading bay and was testing his walkie talkie.

Posted outside door three with Reuben for the start of the event, there were times when we "talked gangster". He stared at me and later asked me not to slash him. It really amusing to see his expression when he "pleaded" me with the fact that he got a gangster look. Haha!

There was a small change in the performance on the second day. The drum soloist did not wear his shoes out this time round. The female solo singer did not put on a make-up too thick and she had her hair half-tied. I prefer the neater her.

After the event, I took cab home with YuYue and YuRi in their Dad's car.

Dayspring Kindergarden Graduation N Concert 2010

The graduation show was simple and nice. The parents however gave us lots of problem. So much for being educated. This was the first time that I shouted at the patrons because they were too much. My toes were stepped on for countless times. How nice. It was a crucial point at stage front and the parents are squeezing to fetch their child in a very not orderly manner. This was made worse when parents squeezed there when it was not even their child that was released.

I asked the parents to stay behind the white line which was drawn according to the seats instead of the ground. They kept shifting forward and tell me that they are behind the white line. Squeezing to take pictures and screaming for their precious child. Don't they know that their actions is actually causing harm to their child? It will be smooth if they cooperated. Civilised huh? I really do not know how their child is going to survive in future if they pamper them these much.

Honestly, with one parent sent to collect the child is enough. Having the rest of the family waiting at their seats with orderly manner will really helps. Widespread of hysteria I guess. It really slows down the work when all the people crowd around the staircase where the kids were released. I really don't see the point of squeezing at the staircase when the class of the kids were not announced. This is way too 'kiasu'.

I think that something can be done by the hirer too but it was not done. It would be really great if ushers' effort are recognised and have our presence known.

Informatics Graduation 2010

It was only known to be a two session event after the ushers report to the loading bay. All of us were shocked.

Arrangements have to be made so that I could stay for the whole event. Honestly, I had kind of predicted that it will be a two session event due to my past experience with their graduation ceremony.

It was just another normal event I guess. Can't really remember what really happened as the event took place too long ago for me to recall.

Mozart @ Singapore

I was totally amazed by the performance of the MozART Group! They were simply awesome! They just brought the appreciation of classical music to a whole new level! Amazing!

Not being there on the first day of their event, I have heard a lot of good reviews about them. I was told that I am going to like their performance.

Anticipating a great show, I was really excited. I was glad to have my placement at door three. Not a bad angle, just a little busy. My eyes lit up when the musicians started to make their way onto the stage.

Having heard what may happen, I stood aside so that the musician that was "late" can run in. He really knows his moves well; it is not easy to run so fast in such tight suit and with a cello held in one hand.

Having the manager of my department helping out in the house was rather stressful. I really do not like the feeling of being "monitored".

I didn't fully enjoy the performance as I had to keep a lookout for people that breach the house rules. Furthermore, being at door 3 means that there is a higher amount of workload. There were times that I missed a few details here and there. I really love their performance. How I wish that I can watch it live again.

Instead of just playing their instruments with some playful geeks, they totally made good use of their bows and other parts of the instruments. Other things of the daily life were also made good used in their performance. Actions with minimal words spoke were the part that made this music appreciation session more amusing. I guess I am in love with this group's way of delivering their music.

Due to the high response and liking, BT asked for permission for just this once that ushers be allowed to take photographs and autographs from the musician officially without having the jacket be taken off. I was overjoyed!

It was however a pity that I did not managed to get their autographs as they needed to rush off. I saw SCO staffs queueing up to take while no one helped me. Ushers, always have to be the last. Sad. On the brighter note, I managed to take a picture with two of the musicians as the other two had already went off. Thanks Jeanie for being the photographer.

Their performance may be over. But I will surely remember how awesome the MozART group is.

ilight Marina Bay

Pei Fen and I didn't manage to finish walking the whole stretch of the map where all the displays were located. Guess I am too tired from work and it was already quite late. Not bad that we managed to finish taking pictures for most the displays.

My event ended way earleir than expected so I ate the buffet for the guests while I waited for Pei Fen. Nice chat with Jeanie and ShiHui.

I walked over to Raffles City MRT to wait for Pei Fen. What a coincident that she took the right escalator up while I was about to go down. Fate.

Walking towards the first point of ilight, we had a good chat. She gave me a surprise present; banana. Asked her to eat in the end as she had not eaten much.

Our crazy picture taking session begins after we reached the point. It wasn't a smooth trip as we kept walking the wrong way. We got to have nice picture of us with Marina Bay Sands as the background.

We did not really understand the first point though as it was a giant egg-like structure. We slowly understood after reading the description and have a better expectation of the pattern of the artworks displayed around the whole of Marina Bay.

We spent quite some time on an interactive artwork. It was cool! It was like a giant kaleidoscope but not really one. The patterns on the screen change as we change our positions. Cool!

We then went to the next point where there were three big fans. The lights went off when we we there. I found the way to activate the fan but could not activate the light no matter how I tried. Oh well. Honestly, we do not know whether it was one ofthe display or not because there was no description. We then proceeded to the next point.

Strolling on, what I coincident that I saw HongQuan at one of the point. I did not recognise him initially till I walked closer. It was the display of the "doves" with some eerie sounds that I could not understand.

Singapore has a very beautiful skyline. Sitting by the river side to enjoy the sea breeze and staring at the awesome skyline is very relaxing. Yes, it's sea breeze instead of land breeze. I have no idea why. It's the relaxation that matters anyway.

We had another interactive display on the helix bridge. Wattfish. There's no fish but a fishing rod that will light up when the motor was spun. It really can train arm muscles.

Our trip stopped at one display below the bridge near esplanade. My legs cannot take it anymore. Furthermore, it was late and I have school the next day. I rocks.

It was a fun trip. How I wish I can spend more time there with Pei Fen. We have got so much to talk about and so many pictures to take. The exhibition is innovative. It can be improved with maps placed at certain locations. The descriptions are really helpful to aid in our understanding of the artworks.

ICAS 2010

I was so glad that I got the chance to be the in-charge finally after so long. It was a good thing for that day too as it was a short event. Being the in-charge allowed me to earn a little more.

Being a "three plus one" attendance, I really have to work very hard. I ran up and down to carry the queue poles and place the signages. I do not want to throw jobs to Shihui and Jeanie because I am a nice in-charge. I was panting away when I finally enter the house.

As I was not briefed much on what was going to happen, I approached the hirer for more information. She was a very nice lady who explained what she wanted with patience.

We had quite some time to rest till doors open. As this was my next event after the incident, the lazy colleague pretended to be a righteous person and did her best to crawl over my head. Throwing her at the even doors, I sorted out the door 3 deployment with Shihui and Jeanie, letting them choose where they want to be. My mind was rather blank at that moment, not knowing how I should deploy.

I was really glad that Shihui was with me as her brain really works very fast. Facing some miscommunication of instructions from the hirer, things only went smooth after a while. Warm-up warm-up.

It was a rather relaxing event as there were ushers for the prize recipients. All Shihui and Jeanie have to do was to guide them to the right doors and ask the guests to take the elevated seats.

Upon commencement of the event, I sat outside door three and update Jeanie on what happened. Jeanie told me a Chinese proverb, "害人之心不可有，防人之心不可无".

After the event, I quickly get hold of the hirer to get her signature and the programmes for the office records. Promoting University of New South Wales, she gave me some of the leftover goodie bags and pens.

After the event, it was time to debrief as usual. Asking whether there was any feedback and had no particular big issues, we left the house for the loading bay. After submitting all the required documents to EeYin and finish the administrative works, Shihui, Jeanie and I went to have our meal with the buffet provided for the guests.

There was not much left when we reched there. We took a little of everything to try. I aimed for the desserts. I tried to eat as much as possible as I was going out with Pei Fen later on. I left my stuffs in the locker as well in order to lighten my weight.

The chitchat session with Shihui and Jeanie was great. I love it totally. It was the last week of work for Shihui. How I wish that she can stays on so that we can have more of this session.

Accompanying them to the MRT station, I walked around while I waited to meet Pei Fen. She came rather late as I was told that the event would end late. The event however suprisingly ended way earlier, giving me lots of time to spend before meeting Pei Fen.

Gracefields Kindergarden Graduation 2010

This my third year working for their gradduation. It was another round of kiddy performances with the jubilant parents as their strong supporters.

Doing the deployment, BT told me beforehand that hs is placing me with someone I do not like. Being confident, I said it was alright, thinking that I'll just have to be a little more hardworking. I was however wrong when the event started.

There were three new colleagues and I was not in the mood to talk. I forgot to bring my phone with me. The conflict was sparked off by an idiotic patron who insist on consuming starbucks coffe inside the house. Not bringing it out after being approached by me, I asked that lazy colleague to approach for a different effect. Disppearing as usual to skive, I can't believe that she actually shouted across the block of seats, asking whether the new girl and I had approached the patron. The mic of the walkie-talkie was hanging down the buttons in a very unglam manner. Saying that we have approached, which the new girl in fact did not, she laughed aloud in a mocking manner, saying that it was hilarious that two of us could not settle a cup of coffee.

Angered by that, I asked whether she was trying to buy time. At this point of time, she said ridiculous stuffs and went to complain to EeYin for a very long period of time, and not settle the idiotic patron. Ridiculous.

Coming over to listen to my part of the story, EeYin and I was shocked by how that lazy colleague sneaked up to eavesdrop. My story was interrupted by that lazy colleague, who kept spouting ridiculous words out of her mouth, trying to create a scenario where she is the holy and righteous one. Disgusting. If she was confident that she was right, she wouldn't be stopping and trying control what people say. I am sure that she felt guilty and attempted to make me her scapegoat.

Asking the new colleague to take over my position, BT asked me to the foyer, listening to what happened after I warned him that something is going to happen during debrief. I wasn't given the chance to finish the whole story though, only spoke the main parts. That lazy colleague was then called out to say her part of the story next. I do not know what she would say, but I am confident that the rest of my colleagues would be on my side despite of her lies.

While the event went on, that lazy colleague pretend to work, giving me instructions and sounded as if the patron with a restless baby was not attended by me. Despicable acts by her as usual. The atmosphere was tense and quiet till the end of the event.

Expecting something to happen during debrief, BT just asked the rest of the colleagues to keep our walkie-talkies and torchlights and brought us down. I was puzzled by what was going on but was expecting a talk in the office.

I was right, the issue is to be settled in the office. Having the feeling that I may lose control of myself, I did not talk much. So much lies from her with the despicable righteous tone, I was on the verge of crying. Yes, it was tears of anger.

I did not have the chance to talk as well. My mind was overwhelmed by anger. I aws dissapointed with myself. I thought I would settle this calmly. It was this session that I knew why I always have the feeling that she was expecting me to be exceptionally nice to her. It was all because of a small bag that she gave me when we first knew each other. She must be insane that a small bag could bribe me to tolerate and condone her mistakes and laziness.

It was concluded that BT have to write an incident report. I was afraid to lose my job when I heard that there was this report. The conclusion was that we quarrelled infront of the patrons which did not actually happened. I did not have a chance to say a word to this wrong conclusion made and I was doing my best to control my tears then.

Going out to finish off the administrative stuffs that is to be done after every event, I asked BT whether I'll be in trouble. He said no but I am still doubtful. That lazy colleague stayed inside the office to continue ranting. I was out when BT saw me rubbing my eyes and asked me leave the office first.

BT told me that the extra timings could be claimed. Weird. I just punch out my card as usual and record accordingly. I am alright with extra pay, I have no wrong in accepting extra pay for attending to this trouble.

I then went home with Jane who waited for me at the usher desk. Thanks to her that I was not so lonely when I left the place.

Share Investor Seminar

It was my first time being late for work. Late for three minutes. I ran like a mad women from the MRT station to my reporting place. The haze was giving me breathing difficulty, causing my speed of running to be really slow. The bright side was that I was still able to pay back the time that I was late for.

Quickly got myself changed and equipped, I went up to join my colleagues, starting the day with the routine house checks.

I am deployed to Door six. I stood near Door four in the end as no patron was allowed to take the seats at the second half of the house. It was really tiring to persuade difficult patrons to take the seats infront. Getting really sick and tired of it, YuRi set up queue poles during the intermission to block the whole of the elevated seats. The layout was really drama. But it really helps a lot.

There was mainly speakers for five companies. The partner of the speaker's for the Australian win company was really tall! I stood on the blue platform of the elevated seats and the guy was same height as me when he walked pass me on the ground.

He went to stand beside YuRi, I was laughing at the big height difference. I asked YuRi whether he felt short and he replied "yes I do" with pause and emphasis. What a funny moment.

After the event, we quickly went for our lunch at Amoy Street before the next event commences. It was a marathon day.

This is quite a beautiful number and date. Hope the many couples that are getting married today will have a blessed marriage.

According to what I heard, this October has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. It will only happen in 823 years. Cool!
